These Two Girls’ DACA Wish Will Make Your Heart Melt

In a little over two weeks, Congress will be deciding about the circumstances of the Dream Act and many undocumented families are worried about being separated during the holidays.

Gabriela Zuniga and Abigail Escobar chose to write a letter  to Ellen DeGeneres rather than Santa Claus.

Dear Ellen, These Girls Have a Letter for You

The best thing you'll watch today: These young daughters of Dreamer moms skipped a letter to Santa this year and instead wrote to Ellen DeGeneres.Watch then show your support for a #DreamActNow: MoveOn.org/DreamAct

“Most kids around this time of year are writing notes to Santa. But this year, Santa won’t be able to give me and what other kids want this year. I love my mom more than anything in the world, and all I want for Christmas is that she’ll get to stay here in the United States and be with her family,” they said.

“DACA helped her finish school, get a job, and made sure I was OK,” they said. “My mom is the strongest person I have ever met.”

You may say I’m a dreamer. But I’m not the only one. #DreamAct

After seeing Ellen wearing a “We Are All Dreamers” T-shirt, they became inspired to write a message Ellen to ask for help. They want Ellen to invite their mom to share here story and help promote awareness for dreamers and DACA.
